ArcheAge's Community Manager Seraphina Brennan announced yesterday via the ArcheAge forums that Trion has been spending a significant amount of time "creating better methods to accurately and quickly detect players who have been playing unfairly." The new system has been in effect for "a few weeks" without adding any new software on the players' side. As it was put in the announcement: "That’s been really important to us: Highly improved security, with zero impact on the legitimate players."

Using this new detection software, Trion have already banned a number of "botters, gold farmers, and other types of suspicious accounts." In an interesting move, they have decided to warn the rest of the game's playerbase that might be botting or hacking, allowing them one final chance to cease such activity. Accounts that look "mostly legitimate" will receive a similar message in-game. If they do not cease their activity, they will be banned permanently "regardless of their tenure in ArcheAge."

Brennan later states that players should "look at this not as a second chance, but as the final chance." With the new system in place, Trion can "also see when alternate accounts are associated with other main accounts, so making use of these tools on a throwaway account will lead to disciplinary action on your main." If players want to remain, they will have to make sure that they cease use of third-party programs in-game altogether.
