With the Black Desert Online's launch approaching, the developers have seen fit to answer some player questions and concerns in a new interview that was posted to the forums yesterday. The interview was actually written before CBT2, but posted afterwards, supposedly because the developers didn't want the answers interfering with CBT2 feedback.

A number of interesting questions and concerns are answered. Currently, there are no plans to create a male Ranger, Sorcerer, or Tamer. Development of an opposite gender counterpart for an existing class "takes almost the same amount of resources as creating a completely new class," so the developers have focused on creating new classes. In terms of new playable races, the developers are considering adding playable Shai, but it comes down to what they think will be fun for their players.

In terms of items, dyes that you can earn or craft are currently being considered. However, the team has to make sure that the "usefulness" of said dyes would "not compromise the value of the existing dyes."

Various PvP content is being debated for future updates. Players may be able to create formations of mercenaries, a system that is already fully developed, but the implementation caused problems and a redesign is being considered. If a balance can be struck between "protecting Good players and providing fun for Evil players," players may be able to steal goods from others' carts in the future. The team is currently hoping to include naval PvP via "the maritime battle system in Valencia Part III." "eSport-optimized content" is still being considered, such as 1-vs-1 or party-vs-party matches. The gear gap is also being considered and they will be "abstaining from introducing extra powerful weapons every single update."

The team also covers NA/EU-specific systems. The official answer is that their "ultimate goal is to create the same enjoyable gaming experience for players around the world." In doing this, however, they are " always considering region-specific items or systems, to cater to that region's specific taste or issues." If players provide a lot of input saying that they want a specific feature, it may happen for them at an earlier time than in other regions.
